Frequently asked questions

The Dyson V9 Submarine™ includes vacuum cleaner attachments built to deal with hair – including the de-tangling Motorbar™ cleaner head and Hair screw tool. For optimal performance, vacuum any hair before using the Submarine™ wet roller head.

To ensure continued high performance, we recommend replacing the wet roller every six months, depending on how frequently you use your wet and dry vacuum.

To maintain hygiene and performance, wash your Submarine™ and Dyson Submarine™ wet roller head after every cleaning session.

Remove the wet roller from your lightweight stick vacuum and clean it under tap water using diluted household anti-bacterial detergent, as per manufacturer guidelines.

All Dyson wet and dry vacuums – like the Dyson V15s Detect Submarine™ Complete vacuum – can be used with diluted household anti-bacterial detergent. Avoid bleach and always follow the manufacturer’s dilution recommendations – neat detergent should not be added to the clean water tank.
