Pioneering Dyson technology

No hot plates.
No heat damage.2

Dyson’s newest Hair care technology utilises high-pressure airflow to simultaneously straighten and dry hair, replacing the need for rough drying. While you style, air is precisely heated and projected evenly through the hair strands for a smooth, polished look – with no need for extreme heat.1

Directional airflow that
aligns and smooths

The Dyson Airstrait™ straightener projects airflow at a downward 45° angle to create the tension needed to align hair for a smooth, sleek style – with less damage and breakage.2

Inside the machine

    Precise temperature control

The machine arms are manufactured with glass bead thermistors to regulate airflow temperature up to 16/30 times per second. This innovation protects the hair from extreme heat damage and encourages the hair to preserve its natural shine.

    Dyson Hyperdymium™ motor

A 13-blade impeller spins up to 106,000rpm, propelling 11.9 litres of air through the Airstrait™ per second. This generates 3.6kPa of air pressure to effectively straighten hair as it dries.

Your routine, simplified

The Dyson Airstrait™ dries and straightens hair simultaneously to eliminate the rough drying stage of hair styling. Take hair from wet to your natural straight – with one machine. Less time, less breakage, less frizz and more shine.

Why straighten when wet?

  • A close-up of damaged hair strands, with water droplets attached.

    Style reset

The hydrogen bonds in hair are more pliable when the hair is wet. Dyson Airstrait™ technology harnesses this idea with directional airflow that styles and ‘resets’ wet hair without extreme heat.2

    The science behind shiny hair

Airstrait™ utilises lower temperatures between 80°C - 140°C to reset the hair's bonds from wet. This means your hair’s internal structure is protected so it can reflect more light for a glossier finish.

Engineered to maintain hair strength3
